On December 1, in a heartfelt Instagram post, Elliot Page, the star of Juno, Inception, Umbrella Academy among others, came out as transgender.
"I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life," he wrote. "I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can't begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self."
Elliot, who had previously come out as homosexual in 2014, said that he would use “he/they” pronouns. Page was nominated for an Oscar for playing a pregnant teenager in 2007 coming-of-age film Juno. He currently stars in superhero series Umbrella Academy.

Actors, activists and social media influencers have flooded social media with support for Elliot ever since the announcement. According to new reports, Marvel Studios, in light of its decision to introduce more diverse characters, is in talks with the actor for a new role.
Elliot Page as Kitty Pryde Collected
Elliot, who made his acting debut as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand, may play a transgender man, Jake Young, who was introduced in Avengers: Solo #2 back in 2011. The character signed up for a medical experiment; unbeknownst to him, the test would give him super powers due to the hormones he has been taking to transition.
According to industry insider, Daniel Richtman, the actor might end up not playing a transgender role at all. Marvel is yet to confirm any of these rumours.
