Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's estranged wife Aaliya filed a written complaint against Gangs of Wasseypur actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui to the Versova police on September 23.
She accused him of rape and infidelity according to an official. The police would look into the complaint, the anonymous official added.
As of today, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered.

Aaliya submitted her statement at Budhana police station in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh last week in a previous complaint she had filed against the actor and four members of his family.
The couple got married in 2008 and together they have a daughter, Shora, and a son, Yaani.

On 19 May 2020, The Indian Express revealed that Aaliya had sent a legal notice seeking divorce to terminate their 11-year marriage.
The actor currently lives with his younger brother Shamas Siddiqui, who has come forward to defend his older brother and called the allegations baseless.
He tweeted: "File as many cases as you want against our family. I will see you in court."

According to the family, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s reputation is being tarnished and he is being framed for money. Aaliya, on the other hand, has taken to twitter and admitted receiving threats for going against the actor.
