Actress Nusraat Faria and makers of the upcoming flick Boss 2 faced the wrath of some social media users over a new video song titled “Allah Meherbaan” from the film, since its release on May 26 on YouTube.
And now, a Supreme Court lawyer has issued a legal notice to Jaaz Multimedia demanding the removal of the video song from YouTube, within the next three days.
In the notice, the lawyer referred to the song as an “obnoxious depiction of the holy name of Allah.” Lawyer Muhammad Huzzatul Islam Khan has sent the notice by the registrar’s post, on behalf of the Supreme Court lawyer Md Azizul Bashar on Sunday morning.
“On May 27, my client came across the song “Allah Meherbaan” and came to know that the song is actually an item song from a movie named Boss 2. The depiction of the holy name of Allah in this song is inexplicably obnoxious,” the legal notice states. The notice further states that the release of a song like this, just before the holy month of Ramadan, is atrocious and upsets the religious sensibility of the mass. The notice goes on to threaten the authorities with legal consequences if they do not remove the video of the song from YouTube and other social media outlets within the given time.
Copies of the notice have also been sent to secretary of the information ministry, cultural secretary, managing director of BFDC, IG of police, chairman of the censor board and director of Jaaz Multimedia.
The song was released on Friday, and comments started to pour in on the post, while most of the users were found critical of the song and said that they are aggrieved by the lyrical content of the song, which hurts their religious sentiments.
