Actor and director Meher Afroz Shaon has gone to self-isolation after her return from the US amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Through a status on her verified Facebook page on Tuesday, the actor notified that she has kept herself in self-quarantine for 14 days in her Dhanmondi resident since Monday.
Shaon, however, said she has no coronavirus symptoms like fever, cough and body ache, reports UNB.
She said she had been to the US to participate in a book fair as per prior commitment. “Though there was an outbreak of coronavirus in Washington, it had not spread to New York during the initial part of my stay. Soon after the outbreak of the virus, warning messages were issued in many US states. So, I didn't get out of the house at all.”
“I returned to Bangladesh on Monday with the grace of the Almighty and I’ve been staying in my Dhanmondi separately since then. (I'm afraid of using the word home-quarantine). I’m talking to my sons, who are staying in my mother’s house, through video calls for hours.
Coronavirus cases across the US reached over 4,490 -- a jump of more than 1,000 from Sunday -- with 87 deaths.
On Monday, the government decided that all those arriving here from abroad must stay in 14-day quarantine.
Bangladesh has so far reported 10 coronavirus cases.
