The Liberation War museum is organizing a three day music festival, starting Thursday. The Liberation Music Festival aims to raise funds for the museum.
To brief the media about the festival, the trustees of the museum arranged a press conference on Monday. Rockstar Mac Haque and Tipu were present at the press conference with other guests.
Mir Nawbut Ali, chief marketing officer of Bkash was also present at the press conference.
Recalling his childhood days, Haque said: "I was a 13 year old during the Liberation War. The war left a strong impression which I will remember the rest of my life. Our major responsibility is to connect people with the Liberation War. We hope the fest will take place every year."
Later, Maqsood unveiled the cover of the book, History of Bangladeshi Rock – The Legacy of Azam Khan, a bilingual book on rock legend and freedom fighter, the late Azam Khan.
The book will be available at the Ekushey Boi Mela for TK 300.
Mofidul Hoque, a trustee of the museum said: "We have got the infrastructure of the museum. Now a permanent fund is very necessary for us. He urged the country’s citizens to come forward to raise the funds."
Around 20 bands including Maqsood O' Dhaka, Bangla Five Band, Nemesis, Nova, Meghdol, Sacrament, Chitkar, Gaatch, Obscure, Renaissance, Shovvota, Sorol, Baul Express, Mati, Sahajia, Avash, and Warfaze, will perform at the festival.
Concert goers can use the Bkash app to buy outdoor tickets for Tk300 and indoor tickets for TK1000.
