Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) English Club is organizing a day-long exhibition, competition, and award ceremony titled Nizoder Anti-dandruff Shampoo presents NDUB Environment Vanguard Award 2019, at the Notre Dame University campus in Motijheel on November 15. According to a press release, the event is being organized to raise awareness on the environment and climate change, and to engage the youth in environmental protection and development activities.
There will be three categories in the competition: photo-story, visual poetry, and short film. Popular media personalities will serve as jury members for each category of the competition. Photographer Hasan Chandan will judge the photo-story category. Biswajit Goswami, a faculty member of the Department of Fine Arts in Dhaka University, will judge the visual poetry category. Finally, Fatema Amin, a faculty of the Department of Film and Television in Jagannath University, will judge the short-film category.
The top three in the photo-story category (1st, 2nd, and 3rd position winners) will receive $3000 or Tk2.5 lakh as a team to complete a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) photo-story project in the coastal belt of Bangladesh.
In the short film category, the winning team will also receive $3000 or Tk2.5 lakh. However, they will have to complete a short film project in the coastal belt of Bangladesh for UNDP. The runners-up team in the short film category will receive Tk20,000 as prize money, and an opportunity to work with Avant-garde Productions.
The winner of the visual poetry category will receive Tk10,000 and an opportunity to work with Ars Poetica.
Crests will be given to the top three in each category, and certificates will be awarded to the top 10. Participants may compete individually or as part of a team for each category. There can be a maximum of five individuals in one team.
The deadline for submissions for all three categories is November 10. On November 15, the event will begin at 10am and conclude at 7pm.
The strategic partner for the event is UNDP. The associate partners are Nagarkrishi, Green Savers, Paper Leaf, Avant-garde Productions, and Weabers.
