The trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi was dropped on Friday, at Star Wars Celebration in Florida. Mark Hamill, who acts in the role of the beloved Luke Skywalker, gave an interview to ABC News and completely blew the franchise’s fandom as he said that there’s a possibility that the iconic hero could go bad in the latest instalment.
“It’s possible, anything’s possible,” Hamill told Paula Faris.
However, he also joked during the panel that he suffers from “short term memory loss” and said, he had “lost credibility with the public through social media because I lie all the time.”
While talking about his April Fools jokes on Twitter, the 65-year-old actor said, “I lost total credibility with the public through social media because I lie all the time and I post an exclusive look at the Episode VIII trailer and it’s a trailer on the back lot… It’s like the boy who cried wolf, nobody believes me.”
Although, a lot of fans think that it would be really interesting to see the hero gone wrong. Specially after the release of the first trailer for the eighth episode in the space saga on Friday, which focuses on Rey’s Jedi training under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker.
There’s also footage of space battles, glimpses at characters like Finn and Kylo Ren, and a crushed Darth Vader mask. The trailer concludes with the line, “I only know one truth: It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
The eighth instalment in the blockbuster franchise is tabbed to come out on December 15, this year.
