Director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki said on social media that cinema is most probably going through its toughest times now since its advent, but also expressed hope in upcoming films like Amitabh Reza’s Rickshaw Girl.
About Rickshaw Girl, he said: “I know about Rickshaw Girl. I feel that it is a beautiful story. There is still time for the movie to be released. I will join the campaign for the movie as well.”
Recently, on a Facebook status, Farooki also said that cinema is going through a very hard era with the modern lifestyle of restlessness, constant social media scrolling, new business models, box office overvaluation, number game and so on.

Rickshaw Girl is produced by Eric J Adams. Faridur Reza Sagor and Ziauddin Adil are the joint executive producers. Naseef Faruque Amin and Sharbari Zohra Ahmed co-wrote the screenplay.
The shooting for Rickshaw Girl has taken place in various locations across the country,including Gazipur, for the past four months. The film is based on Mitali Perkins’s best-selling book of the same name.
