The Last Jedi’s of the Star Wars franchise, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) has launched the latest version of the Star Wars “Force for Change” charity fund-raiser with a new campaign - “Past, Present and Future,” aimed at celebrating the galactic saga’s 40th anniversary.
The duo appeared on Good Morning America to announce the contest. The “Force For Change” initiative will be beneficiary for Starlight Children’s Foundation, which has brought smiles to more than 60 million critically, chronically and terminally ill children in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom for 35 years. The money will be spent to bring entertainment, games, and boosted spirits to young patients at more than 700 hospitals and clinics.
The initiative kicked off on April 11, and will run for four weeks until May 11. Participants who enter at Omaze.com/StarWars will have the chance to win an appearance in the upcoming untitled Han Solo movie, tickets to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, or an overnight stay at Skywalker Ranch. Each week, a new prize will be awarded to a randomly-selected winner, and at the end of the campaign, one randomly-selected grand prize winner will be awarded all three Force-filled experiences.
Ever since “Force for Change” has been launched in 2014 to harness the power of the Star Wars fandom, it raised millions of dollars in support of programs such as UNICEF Kid Power, the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
