SD Rubel returns to playback singing with ‘Radha Krishna’

His 2017 album, “Mon Jeno Ek Mayabi Pakhi,” was released on Amazon Music

After a long hiatus from playback singing, popular Bangladeshi singer SD Rubel has returned to the silver screen. At a studio in Dhaka, he recently gave the vocals to the song “Radha Krishna,” for a film directed by Palash Khan, according to a recent press statement. The movie title is yet to be decided.

"Radha Krishna” was written and directed by director Palash Khan. The movie will feature actors Sourav Farsi, Moumita Khan, and newcomer Moitree. The film’s storyline revolves around a love triangle between its lead cast members. 

It will also feature six more songs and the yet untitled film’s first phase shoot will start at Gaibandha Government College from April 28.

The film’s lead actor, Sourav Farsi, said  press statement: “This is a unique film in our film industry and hopefully the audience will see a completely new format of storytelling.”

SD Rubel first came into the limelight with his debut album, “Jiboner Shoikote.” He became immensely popularity throughout the country with his single, “Lal Benaroshi.” Apart from singing, Rubel is also a composer, lyricist, producer, and actor. He has produced more than 10 TV dramas and telefilms. 

Rubel made his playback debut with Montazur Rahman Akbar’s 2011 film, “Ebhabei Bhalobasha Hoy.” He went on to do playback songs for more than 150 Bangla films. He has also released 37 solo albums and has sung in 400 mix albums, performing live in 27 countries across the globe.

His 2017 album, “Mon Jeno Ek Mayabi Pakhi,” was released on Amazon Music.
