A two-day group photography exhibition, titled “Tamron-Eminence Photo Exhibition”, ended yesterday in the capital.

The photography show, which began at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondion Monday, featured works by photographers from different walks of life. From wildlife to lifestyle, the exhibited photos  showcased different genres of photography.

“A soldier is awake when the night is deep" one of the photographs on display  enthralled visitors with its subject matter and beautiful balance of colours. In the photo, the starry night is captured beautifully as a soldier guards the border area standing on a tank. The picture was snapped by Naeem Mahmud.

A wildlife photo, titled“Unity,” captured by Md Zakirul Mazed Konok, depicts the magnificent harmony of nature. In the colourful photo, a frog and ants are seen collecting food together.

Mohammed Rubel’s landscape photo, called“Good Morning,”shows a beautiful foggy morning reflected on the river. The photo captures the serenity of nature with artistry.

Another photo drew the attention of the visitors at the show. The photograph, named“Dream”, created a mysterious impact on the minds of the viewers. Taken by Arif Raaj, the picture depicts a girl hiding behind white curtains. Her puzzling face in the soft focused image created a dreamy feeling.

Another photo on display, “Bela Shesh Ey”, portrays a lonely man walking in a rural area at dusk. Emerging photographer Akib Rahman captured the precious moment through his lens.

“Life of a scavenger” was another stunning piece of photography at the exhibition. The black and white photo shows a man near a waste management area. The surreal image reminds viewers of the harsh reality of our society. The flying crows in the photo create a Hitchcockian vibe.

Japan-based lens manufacturing company Tamron hosted the event, in association with Eminence Distribution Limited and Eminence Photographic. It was Tamron's first official print photo exhibition in the country.

The submission process was open to photographers from all sectors. Selected photos from the exhibition will be featured in Tamron’s magazine in 2019.
