
Blockbuster film “Dhaka Attack,” directed by Dipankar Dipon, set a new record by running both locally and overseas for 154 days straight on March 10. The film is reportedly a new record holder of being the longest running film in the history of Bangladesh.
The film’s director recently told the press that his film is running since its release. He also said that it was not screening for a week in Bangladesh but was running in US then. He also said that all of this was possible for the love from his viewers.
The record breaking film is still running at theatres including Shahin (Dhaka), Chompakoli (Tongi), Banani (Kushtia), Shapla (Rangpur) and Raj (Kuliarchar).
Photo collected from Facebook page of Dhaka Attack“Dhaka Attack,” which is said to be the first cop-action thriller of Dhallywood, features a total 238 characters in the film. With Arifin Shuvo and Mahiya Mahi in the leading roles, the film boasts a heavyweight cast including Syed Hasan Imam, Alamgir, Afzal Hossain, Laila Hasan, ABM Suman, Shatabdi Wadud and Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, among others.
Shuvo plays a daredevil cop, working with the police’s bomb disposal unit in the film, while Mahi plays the role of a journalist.
On another note, the director also announced a sequel of the film back in October 2017 which has the working titles like “Dhaka Attack Extreme” or “Dhaka Attack: Two” and he is eager to begin working on it as soon as possible and aiming for a 2019 release.
