The story behind Abid Omi's 'Khamkheyali'

Update : 17 Feb 2018, 10:42 PM
Not every musician gets the equal amount of fame and applause because there are many musicians who work silently. They keep performing in nearly-private platforms like private ceremonies, stage programs etc., while many remains busy making background scores for visual productions and all. Abid Omi is one of those musicians. Starting his career as a cafe singer at Fire on Ice in 2009, Omi went on to earn popularity within a very short time and went to to play unplugged shows in various cafes, corporate events and even abroad. According to the singer, he feels very fortunate to start working with SI Tutul, assisting him with his musical works. Tutul eventually turned into a source of great inspiration and influence for Omi. Around mid 2016, Abid Omi planned to create his own songs and started looking for lyrics with a different taste. After an elaborate search, he met Samanta Mondal (India) through Facebook, who later sent him a few lines of the song “Khamkheyali.” With half of the tune for the track done, Omi went to visit Shawon khan's studio and played the half-done track. Impressed by his performance, Shawon Khan, the composer, immediately consented to work on the track with Omi. Abid Omi, then approached Aawrosh media to get the only thing missing, a music video of “Khamkheyali”. Director Classic Sarkar and production chief Matrick Rocky came up with a nice theme and made an outstanding execution. Finally, the song “Khamkheyali” got released from Pro Multimedia record label. The singer does not want to stop here and is now working on a new single, which he plans to release soon. “I am here to stay,” Omi told Showtime. He added, “Currently I'm also working on the background score of TV drams and some title tracks.”
