Renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer Apala Basu has entertained an enraptured audience with Rabindra songs at a musical event in the Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum in Dhaka.
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organized the event on Saturday evening.
The Indian singer founded Surolok, an organisation of amateur enthusiasts and professionals based in Kolkata.
She also acted in Rabindra Tagore’s plays in different corners of India during her tour around the country in 2000.
She teaches English language at Ramkrishna Mission Institute of Culture at Kolkata.
Passionate about Rabindra Sangeet since her childhood, Apala was born and raised in a music-loving family.
She received training from Sri Mallar Bose and Gitabitan school at Kolkata.
Apala completed the Certified Special Course of Studies in Rabindra Sangeet from Visva-Bharati University at Shantiniketan in 2005 and participated in a wide range of workshops with renowned exponents throughout her career.
