Film-maker Abu Sayeed has presented an innovative and eco-friendly architectural design, in an attempt to minimize adverse effects on the environment.
The model, titled “Harmony: Eco-Friendly Architecture,” was be up on display at his house in Mirpur till Friday.
The innovator came up with the model to solve the existing inefficient architectural plans, and minimize the destruction of wetlands or forests.

The design, if implemented, is likely to reduce carbon emission and promote organic farming in cities, while every housing unit in every high-rise building will be exposed to sunlight and fresh air, said the innovator while talking to a Dhaka Tribune correspondent.
Sayeed said the architectural model aims to minimize the use of land by emulating the structure of a tree, specifically its stem, root and branches.
According to this design, the first floor will be 40 feet from the surface, built on a core pile originating from the cap, while various other piles will support the cap diagonally from below the surface.

Sayeed said the ground will get proper sunlight so it will be possible to plant trees and vegetables under the structure.
“Government, developer companies or individual architects can follow the design in their housing plans” he added.
“The construction won’t be expensive and the ground space will be a source of extra benefit,” he added.
