Balloting for the Dhaka-17 by-polls has been ongoing in peaceful manner without any report of untoward incidents.
Voters were seen at several polling centres in Banani and Gulshan since 7am braving the rain.
In the morning, a higher number of female voters were present compared to male voters at polling centres. Authorities as well as candidates expressed their hope that voter turnout will increase as the day passes.
The balloting for the Dhaka-17 by-polls commenced at 8am on Monday and will continue until 4pm.
