As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the traditional Chawkbazar Iftar Market in Old Dhaka, has turned into one of the busiest places for customers in the capital.
Like every year, hundreds of people gathered the roadside iftar stalls displaying various mouthwatering dishes at Chawkbazar on Friday. Numerous makeshift shops around Chawkbazar Shahi Mosque were seen crowded with Muslim devout from different parts of the city.
Traditional items like Chola, Piaju, Beguni, Nimki, Ghugni, Egg Chop, Haleem, different types of naans, Boro Baper Polay Khay, Shahi Paratha, different types of kabab, different types of Jilapi, Sarbat items, dessert items are sold in the market.
However, many have complained that the food items were more expensive than previous years.
The beautiful decoration and smell of the iftar items attacked the buyers to purchase the iftar items.
