In pictures: Boat race organized at Hatirjheel marking Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary

On the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 103rd birthday, a boat ride was organized in Dhaka’s Hatirjheel on Friday. 

Hundreds of visitors were seen cheering for the participants.

On this day in 1920, Bangabandhu, the leader of the Bangali nation, the architect of independent Bangladesh and the greatest Bangali of all time, was born in a respected Muslim family in Tungipara village of Gopalganj sub-division, now district.

The birthday of Bangabandhu is being observed across the country as National Children's Day for many years.
