In pictures: Padma erosion turns worse in Mushiganj

Several hundred families of Sardar Kandi and Shambhu Haldar Kandi villages in Banglabazar Union of Munshiganj are in danger of losing their homes and valuable as river erosion has taken a serious turn.

Locals said erosion by Padma River has intensified in the last 10 days.Half of the cultivated land and residential houses of two villages have been lost in the Padma. The victims were relieved on Tuesday as geo bags filled with sands were placed along the embankments under the initiative of the Water Development Board.
