The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday conducted a raid in an unauthorized hospital in the capital’s Nazimuddin road area. During the raid, officials found that the Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital was conducting operations on patients, while it has a stock of expired medicines. Patients at the hospital said they initially went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for their treatments but were lured into Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital through third parties. DGHS once again launched raids against illegal diagnostic centres and clinics on Monday. According to DGHS, a total of 1,641 health institutions were closed in the last campaign.
The pictures were taken by Dhaka Tribune’s photographer Mehedi Hasan.
