Chittagong city’s famous Jamboree playground has been transformed into a park. Housing and Public Works Minister Mosharraf Hossain inaugurated Jamboree Park on Saturday morning.
Previously known as Jamboree Math (field), it was used for massive scout gatherings called Jamboree.
The park is situated in Agrabad, built on 8.55 acres of land and with a 50,000 square feet pool-like water body at the centre. It also has 8,000m of walkways, two public toilets and two maintenance and electrical blocks.
The park has been decorated with several hundred lamps which will offer a dazzling view at night. The ground has been made almost three feet high so that it does not get submerged due to water-logging.
The park will remain open every day from 5am to 9pm for all.
