Bangladesh U-19 thump India to become unbeaten champions

Bangladesh U-19 cricket team produced a joint effort to finish as the unbeaten champions of the U-19 Triangular Series 2021-22 in India.
The young Tigers registered a mammoth 181-run victory against India U-19 B team to the lift the championship trophy at Eden Gardens in Kolkata Tuesday.
Defending 235, Bangladesh bowlers led by left-arm spinner Naimur Rahman Noyon restricted India U-19 B to 53 runs inside 21.3 overs.
Naimur picked up four wickets to reap the opposition middle-order apart conceding just 16 runs in 6.3 overs.
Bangladesh got the first wicket in the fourth over of the chase and this triggered a collapse from which India failed to recover.
Ashiqur Zaman and Meherob Hossain bagged two scalps apiece to boost the Bangladesh dominance over the host team.
Only two batters in the India innings could score in double figure - middle-order batters Uday Sharan (26) and Kaushal Tmabe (11).
Earlier, Bangladesh after losing the toss were sent to bat first.
There was an early hiccup for the visitors as openers Tanzim Hasan and Mahfijul Islam departed for ducks.
Bangladesh recovered from the early fall of wickets riding on half-centuries from Aich Mollah and lower-order batter Ashiqur and posted 234 runs before losing all wickets in 41.4 overs.
Aich added a 91-ball 93 involving 10 boundaries and two over boundaries while Ashiqur scored 50 off 58 deliveries laced with five boundaries and two over boundaries.
Courtesy of the tournament, Bangladesh U-19 crossed path with India U-19 again after the 2020 U-19 World Cup final where the former had finished victorious and emerged champions for the first time.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India hosted India U-19 A, India U-19 B and Bangladesh U-19 teams in the triangular series to help the young players get some much needed practice ahead of the U-19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies.
Bangladesh Cricket Board later announced the U-19 squad for the U-19 Asia Cup UAE 2021 and the U-19 World Cup West Indies 2022.
Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan, one of the members of the 2020 U-19 World Cup winning side, will lead the team in both events.
The Bangladesh side will travel to the UAE on December 20 for the Asia Cup before flying off to the Caribbean from Dubai to defend their world title.
