ATM Nazmul Haque Mridha, senior deputy assistant engineer of Mymensingh Railway, said those who were in charge of the gateman have been absconding since the accident. Local railway workers are manning the gate after the accident.

Dhaka Railway Assistant Transport Officer Aminul Haque said the five-member committee will submit its report within the next three working days.

On Sunday, five people were killed and at least 20 injured in an accident after a train rammed into a bus on a level crossing in Maijpara area at 7:30am.
