The road before me was lying like a piece of rope, at least it seemed so in the dark. The unbearable sound of silence descended slowly and made the atmosphere congested. I thought I was moving or being carried away. The destination seemed obscure. I reckoned that I traversed a long way. The darkness got more intense and pitch-black. I felt everything halted. I beheld not a single soul in that endless path. The unending and ominous time seemed unbearable. It was true that I felt light as if I had unloaded a heavy burden from my shoulder. The path seemed intricate and unsure, yet I was moving forward somehow. I moved along the zigzag path. Slowly my speed slackened and stopped. I could not figure anything in the foggy atmosphere. Suddenly, I felt I was falling down in a bottomless abyss. I heard the indistinct sound of thumping far away for a short time. Then it seemed I woke up. I opened my weak eyelids as though I had not opened them for ages. My limbs felt exhausted and paralysed. I felt the cold and hard surface under my body. A strange feeling engulfed my mind, a strange calmness too. Then I remembered. Although the sudden revelation seemed unbearable, at the same time it was soothing for my parched soul.
