In line with our goals of building stronger relations with other nations, it is good to see Bangladesh and the Netherlands discuss plans to further their ties ahead of our LDC graduation.
At the Fifth Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held in the capital on Sunday, the Secretary General of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands appreciated Bangladesh's developmental efforts thus far, and representatives of both nations touched upon cooperation prospects that could help build a stronger nation for us, in light of the imminent loss of advantages that graduating from our LDC status will entail.
Among the numerous avenues discussed, both countries showed particular interest in creating more engagement in the private sector, and a greater focus on digitalization and agriculture.
The Netherlands has been a strong ally to us for many decades, and played an important role in the economic and societal progress during the early years of our development. To that end, further collaborations in areas that need attention can certainly be expected to be fruitful for both parties involved.
That developed nations like the Netherlands acknowledge the growth that our nation has demonstrated over the past five decades is extremely encouraging, and can attract more mutually beneficial partnerships in the future.
As we move closer to our development goals, it is crucial that we uphold the standards that we have set for ourselves, and nurture more of the bilateral ties that we have successfully maintained since the beginning.
With the continued support of our allies from across the globe, Bangladesh can successfully realize the ambitious goals we have set for ourselves, and slowly move towards prosperity.
