Dhaka continues to astonish the world with its unmatched sincerity. What unfolded on April 12 will go down in history as one of the most significant declarations of support and solidarity for the Palestinian people—an event whose echo will transcend borders and generations.
The resilience of the Bangladeshi people confirms an undeniable truth: Bangladesh, through its men and women, both young and old, has chosen to empower the Palestinian people with renewed strength, encouragement, and moral fortitude as they continue their struggle for freedom and independence. Today, it is rare to find a nation as remarkable as Bangladesh, and even rarer to witness such steadfast vigor in standing by those who refuse to succumb in the face of injustice.
Moreover, this noble nation has taken an irreversible stand—a declaration not merely in words but in principle: “Bangladesh will not accept anything less than being on the right side of history. It will accept nothing less than standing with Palestine and its people's just struggle. It will never compromise on this principle that lives deep within every honorable soul on this earth.”
From all of Palestine to all of Bangladesh, we extend our warmest greetings to a people whose noble spirit and courageous stance defy description. This is what Palestine hopes for and expects from its brothers and sisters in Bangladesh: unwavering support until our people reclaim their full rights, freedom, and independence. To this great nation, we reaffirm our enduring commitment: Palestine and its people will remain loyal to you, no matter how long it takes. We will never forget your honorable stance, and we constantly pray for Bangladesh—for your security, stability, and continued progress.
In the heart of Dhaka, we witnessed a rising sea of red and green: the flag of Bangladesh flying beside that of Palestine. The historic Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University served as a backdrop for this extraordinary scene, where Bangladesh’s national colors intertwined with Palestine’s, symbolizing two banners of courage unfurled side by side. Thousands of voices—including those of students, mothers, imams, and artists—rose in unison, chanting for freedom and justice. Dhaka’s voice will continue to resound and never be silenced, as long as its Palestinian brothers and sisters endure occupation and injustice.
As the Ambassador of Palestine to Bangladesh, I write with a heart overflowing with gratitude, thanking the people of Bangladesh for their steadfast solidarity with Palestine over the past few decades.
To every student who marched, every artist who painted, every imam who prayed, and every Bangladeshi who raised their voice: thank you. From the refugee camps of Gaza to the olive groves of the West Bank, your solidarity is deeply felt. You have helped keep alive our belief that justice will prevail.
From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Palestine, thank you, Bangladesh. You are not merely supporters—you are our brothers and sisters in hope, dignity, and struggle.
Long live the friendship between Palestine and Bangladesh.
Long live our shared struggle for justice.
Yousef Ramadan is the Ambassador of Palestine to Bangladesh
