Five litterateurs have been shortlisted for the Gemcon Literary Award 2015 for their writings.
Jatin Sarkar was selected for writing "Kaler Kopol Tole," Salma Bani for "Immigration," Shahin Aktar for "Moyur Shinghashon," Shahaduzzaman for "Onno Ek Golpokarer Golpo Niye Golpo," and Proshanto Mridha for "Kache Durer Golpo."
The judges' panel will nominate one among the five litterateurs. The award winner will be given Tk5 lakh prize money.
The list was unveiled in a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium on Friday afternoon.
Poet Asad Chowdhury and litterateur Bishwajit Ghosh, among others, were present at the briefing.
Bishwajit Ghosh said: "The Gemcon literary award plays a pivotal role in creating new litterateurs in the country."
Hasan Azizul Haque was honoured with the Gemcon Literary Award-2014 while Ahmad Mostafa Kamal won the award in 2013.
