Chhayanaut paid tribute to its founding president, the renowned poet Sufia Kamal on her 14th death anniversary. The programme opened with a memorial on the poet by Mofidul Haque, then the event proceeded with a musical soiree featuring songs of three poets – Atul Prasad Sen , DL Roy and Rajanikanta Sen were held at the programme. Chhayanaut artistes set off the soiree with two choral renditions of Hain Behobol Koruna Chhol Chhol, Eto Alo Bishomajhe composed by Rajanikanta Sen and many more popular songs were presented on the occasion.
Several artistes performed solos at the programme. Among them noted singers - Mita Huq, Khairul Anam Shakil, Azizur Rahman Tuhin and Nasima Shahin prented their respective renditions of songs composed by Atul Prasad, Rajanikanta Sen and DL Roy.
Seasoned artiste Iffat Ara Dewan presented an Atul Prashad number Koto Gaan To Holo Gawa while Nasima Shaheen rendered a Rajanikanta Sen’s number. Among others, Sumon Majumder performed a DL Roy song while Partha Sarathi Shikdar presented Atul Prasad’s song at the event. Last presentation was a choral rendition of DL Roy’s composition Aji Go Tomar Chorone Jononi.
The singers were accompanied by Enamul Haque Omar and Subir Ghosh on tabla, Almas Ali on violin, Iftekhar Hossain Sohel on keyboard and Pradip Kumar Roy on mandira. The programme wrapped up with a rendition of the national anthem.
