Kozmo presents “The Blues” with the young band “Loco Motive” at Kozmo Lounge Banani today. The band was formed early in 2011 and it consists three members that includes Salman Ahmed Chowdhury (drummer), Asir Arif (bassist) and Sadman Rahman (guitarist and lead vocalist). The trio is launching their very first debut album on September.
Dhaka Tribune caught up with the aspiring band:
What kind of songs is the band performing today?
We will be performing a number of songs from our new album. Also, we will cover songs of the legend of blues such as Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac and Cream. We will be playing these songs in a fresh manner, in an improvisation extended jamming.
Tell us about the band’s upcoming album?
It is our debut album. We are prepared to launch the album on September. Our album in EP, Extended Play, refers a musical recording that contains more than a single, but less than a full album. We hope to have a positive response. We believe that people who favour blues will love our album and others will appreciate our songs. We are yet to decide on the title of the album.
Why not play Bangla tracks?
We are targeting the global audience. Also, our songs will be available in internet. So, we decided to have our own composition and lyrics in English.
