The fifth annual photography exhibition titled “Bangladesh in Frames 5” was inaugurated by Through The Lens: Bangladesh (TTL) photography community on April 19. The exhibition will continue till April 23 from 3to 8 pm everyday in Drik Gallery, Dhanmondi.
“Bangladesh in Frames 5” presents the work of professional and amateur photographers of Bangladesh. This exhibition is showcasing the creative and extraordinary images in the categories ofPortrait, Daily Life, and Nature from different geographical locations of Bangladesh.
TTL is an online based photography community where people are open to share their photos, participate in technical and creative discussion, study, and share their thoughts and knowledge on photography. Members have the option to participate in open criticism on photography techniques and numerous experiments on new ideas and the extent of photography.
The community was founded by a group of young, enthusiastic and passionate photo activists with a goal to make a difference. It is a platform for all photo lovers who live with the passion of seeing their world through the lens and showcasing their views through their photography.
Sudipta Das, coordinator of TTL told the Dhaka Tribune:“From four thousand photographs, only one hundred have been selected for this exhibition. Now we are more than 4,700 members. The community has utilised social media to the fullest extent, and established a significant presence in the 'real world' by bringing photographers together from across the globe. It has become both a virtual and a physical platform for photographers to share creative ideas. By now, TTL's name has reached all photo enthusiasts of Bangladesh.”
In sync with this exhibition, a “Photo Adda” and “Open Photo Story” showcasing was also held in the inauguration ceremony.
