Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Top-up IT and Foundation Skills Project Implementation Unit, LICT, and Bangladesh Computer Council, Govt of Bangladesh (PIU), on October 7, 2015.
The purpose of this association is to enable Foundation Skills and Top up IT training projects to be implemented at IUB for their students leveraging their facilities. While for IUB, the purpose is to gain value preposition to enable its students to get a quality, employability, enhancing training, with certification/accreditation to a government/industry body or university and enhance their employment opportunities through the job-connect component of the project. It will help IUB become a project partner for this programme and also enhance faculty development opportunities for the university.
The MoU was signed by Prof M Omar Rahman, vice chancellor, on behalf of Independent University, Bangladesh, Fokhruz Zaman, component team leader, on behalf of Bangladesh Computer Council and Kamal Mansharamani, project director and senior advisor, Ernst & Young LLP (EY).
The parties agreed that the purpose of this MOU is to establish an in-principle framework for collaboration and cooperation amongst IUB, BCC and PIU for the “project.”
On behalf of IUB, the Office of Career Guidance and Placement (CGP) office with Top-up IT and Foundation Skills Project Implementation Unit, LICT and Bangladesh Computer Council coordinated the signing the MoU.
