Keeping it in the loop

Update : 01 Aug 2015, 11:11 AM

First, you'll need to make the basic hoop.

Things you will need:

Wooden embroidery hoops of various sizes

Colorful fabric or embroidered cloth or doilies

Scissors

Iron

Get to work:

First, select your fabric. If you want to stitch a letter or your name onto it, line out with a pencil before you stitch it in.

Next, use a cloth iron to carefully iron out the fabrics, making sure you take out all the creases.

Place the hoop over your desired fabric and carefully cut out a square slightly bigger than your hoop.

Now stretch the fabric over the hoop and tighten. Place your twister hoop over the fabric and tighten the screw over it to secure it in place. Tug at the fabric to make sure it is tight.

Once you are sure it is tight enough, turn it over and trim off the excess fabric.

Finally, take your assortment of hoops and hang them on the wall of your choice, whether it is over your headboard or in your living room.

You can also hand them up with string (using larger hoops is recommended) to create a semi see-through partition.

You can also use the hoops as a convenient way of showcasing your jewellery (makes getting ready much less tedious) by adding a few pins to the hoops and hanging your earrings and bracelets by the pins.

If you're all about efficiency, a great way to utilize your embroidery hoops is to use it as a bulletin board. You can use burlap sacks or any thick and sturdy material of your choice. Pin your daily anecdotes and to do lists to the hoop to make for a convenient and beautiful planner.
