Bezel me no more

Update : 09 Feb 2017, 04:23 PM
We’re in for a lovely treat on February 26, as LG will be unveiling their latest G6, bezel-less phone to the public at their own LG Barcelona event. The company announced this past Monday that we will finally get to see the new 5.7-inch display (with a 2,880x1,440 resolution), with an 18:9 screen ration called Full Vision. In other words, the bezel-less smartphone is now a reality. Surely, it will look absolutely stunning, but what about all those accidental touches on the screen you want to avoid? How will we be able to actually hold it? I don’t know about you, but this could possibly be my side-kick Android phone next to my iPhone. LG’s invitations went out to all the major tech magazines and websites with the words, “Big screen that fits.” What they present, alongside the words, is a large screened device that is small enough to fit into your hand. Well, how big or small are the hands you’re aiming for, LG? But we know what they are really hinting to is the unnecessary bulk other phones provide. In the LG G6, we simply have the screen and the phone’s back cover. As seen on the image, there is not a single glance at any kind of bezel. It’s almost as if there has been a cropped out photo of some kind with the current time displayed in the top left. The illustration also shows how comfortably one might feel by holding a large, yet small, flagship smartphone. Now, this was actually expected or forecasted in this year’s flagship phones. 2017 will be the year of the bezel-less giants. Samsung is possibly the next to follow suite with their Galaxy S8. We’ve already seen this new design on the latest Xiaomi Mi Mix. But of course, that was tagged with a hefty price tag. And let’s be honest, the other brands mentioned have more weight to their name on the global stage. Unfortunately, we’ll only have these images for now until the Mobile World Congress event kicks off in Barcelona on the 26th of this month. The rest of the details are sure to be open to the public soon enough. From what we can assume so far is the G6 and assumed Galaxy S8 will look pretty darn sexy design wise. While knowing the prowess of the leading Android brands, I’m pretty sure they will reveal some really impressive specs. Well, we’ll have to wait and see at the end of February for further inspection.
