Samina Chowdhury, one of the leading female singers of Bangladesh in recent times, is once again coming up to entertain music lovers with her latest album “Pushpo Brishti.”
The eminent singer with her honeyed voice is presenting a mixture of modern and classical music in her upcoming 16th solo album.
Dhaka Tribune has caught up with the singer to give her fans detail of the album:
Tell us about the album:
In this album, the lyrics and tune have been given by Mohammed Abul Bari. The lyrics consists a classic appeal of romance, beauty of nature, sweet emotions of human beings and more. Moreover, the songs are very melodious with essence of the style of 1960’s, the golden period of Bangla songs.
I took it as a great opportunity to make the audience nostalgic with an array of new songs.
Who is the music arranger?
The music arrangements have been done by Bappa Mazumder and Ibrar Tipu, two of the most talented musicians in our music industry. Both the composers become interested to work in the project by listening to the fabulous lyrics by Bari.
How many songs are there in the album?
There are nine solo and one duet song. Bappa has lent his voice with me in the duet song.
Why did you choose the title Pushpo Brishti?
“Pushpo Brishti” is one of the most favourite songs of mine and is the title song of my album. I preferred to have this as a title of my album because it has the essence of poetry and music.
When are you planning on releasing the album?
The album is expected to release on the Eid-ul-Azha. I hope the young generation would appreciate the spirit of the golden days of 60’s.
