Renowned singer Akbar Ali Gazi, popularly known for “Ittadi”, died on Sunday afternoon while undergoing treatment at Birdem Hospital in the capital.
His wife Kaniz Fatema confirmed the matter.
Akbar's two kidneys were damaged due to accumulation of water in his body and his right leg was damaged. The leg was surgically amputated. However, problems in his kidney and liver arose upon amputating his leg.
Rickshaw driver Akbar Ali became popular after singing the song “Tomar Hat Pakhar Batashe”.
