Raihan M Chowdhury, senior news consultant at The Financial Express (FE), died at a city hospital on Saturday. He was 57.
Raihan, who had been suffering from liver cirrhosis, breathed his last at Islami Bank Central Hospital around 2pm, his colleagues said.
He left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He had been working for FE since 1996. During his tenure, he also worked as the newspaper’s senior business editor.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held on the premises of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity at 4:30pm and the second on the premises of the National Press Club at 5pm. The third was at Shantinagar Jame Mosque and fourth at Hazi Para Jame Mosque.
He was buried in the Shahjahanpur cemetery.
Raihan M Chowdhury was associated with various journalist organizations, including Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), National Press Club, and Economic Reporters Forum (ERF), till his death.
