The 40th death anniversary of Rahatullah Sarkar, a prominent politician, social activist, and an organizer of the Liberation War, will be observed on Tuesday.
Marking the day, a special prayer will be offered and food will be distributed among the destitute at his family residence in Dinajpur, said a press release.
Rahatullah Sarkar took part in the forming of Jukta Front in 1954 under the leadership of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque and Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardi.
He also organized Freedom Fighters at Balurghat area in West Bengal during the Liberation War in 1971.
