Liberation War organizer and former MP Mamtaj Begum has passed away.
The former general secretary of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League breathed her last around midnight on Saturday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at her passing.
In a condolence message on Sunday, she recalled the contribution of this former Chhatra League leader in the Liberation War with gratitude, reports UNB.
Sheikh Hasina revisited her memories with Mamtaj Begum in various movements and struggles at Dhaka University.
"The brilliant former chairman of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha will live forever in the hearts of the people through her own works," she said.
The Prime Minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to her bereaved family.
