The 35th death anniversary of AKM Shamsuzzoha, a language movement veteran and a close aide of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahma, will be observed on Sunday.
Shamsuzzoha was one of the founding members of the Awami League and a former lawmaker.
He was born into the Osman family, one of the traditional families in the country.
The family residence, Baitul Aman Bhaban, in Narayanganj bears the tradition of the family till today.
Samsuzzoha was known as Tranbandhu (aid-friend) in the Indian refugee camps during the Liberation War in 1971.
He hoisted the flag of independent Bangladesh for the first time on December 16, 1971, on the High Court premises.
He also received the Swadhinata Padak (posthumous).
Two sons of Shamsuzzona, AKM Selim Osman and AKM Shamim Osman, have requested all to attend milad and doa mahfil seeking eternal peace for their late father in Chashara of Narayanganj on Sunday.
