Masih-Ul-Karim, chairman of Emkay Enterprises, and also former managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd, passed away early Thursday due to natural causes.
He was 84 years old.
He was managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh from 1992 until 2007, after which he was appointed as its adviser and board member.
Before joining BPBL, he worked at British American Tobacco, Hoechst Pharmaceutical, CARE International, and Bangladesh Sugar and Foods Industries Corporation.
Born in 1940, Masih-Ul-Karim completed his Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and, subsequently, another Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
He began his career as Lecturer at Dhaka University in 1961 and served in two separate stints.
Karim was also former president of the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in 2005-07.
