After a long break, Purnima signed up for two films at the same time. The movies are titled “Jaam”and “Gangchil.” Both films have gained a lot of attention for various reasons.
One movie is being produced by deceased actor Manna’s production house, and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is directly involved with the other project.
Both films are being directed by Noyeem Imtiaz Neamul, and the lead actor will be Ferdous. The Ferdous-Purnima duo will be on the silver screen after a long time, which could either be a coincidence or a well planned presentation for future projects.
On August 6, Ferdous, Purnima, and Noyeem sat in front of journalists at a hotel. The press conference was held for the signing ceremony of “Gangchil,” which is adapted from Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Kader’s novel. After signing for the film, Noyeem said: “the film is set on a Noakhali char . Those who have read the novel are already aware of it.”
The film is to be co-produced by both the actor and director.
Purnima said: “I am returning after five years. I am getting my friend Ferdous as the lead in both films. The Director is also the same for both. This is quite extraordinary. In ‘Gangchil’I am an NGO employee, and in ‘Jaam’ I will be a dancer. The two films are for different temperaments and I am playing different characters. Just as before, I am expecting everybody’s love.”
Ferdous is to play a journalist in “Gangchil” and the shooting will begin in December.
