Awami League and BNP leaders maybe each other’s arch nemesis when it comes to politics, but they are on the same side in supporting the Brazil football team during World Cup season.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia both support the five-time World Cup champions. Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad is also an avid Selecao fan, according to the Bangla Tribune. It’s uncanny how the last three heads of government are all Brazil fans.
However, not all members of Awami League and BNP are Brazil fans. Several leaders fervently support Argentina, too. And there are also one or two occasional France, Spain, and Germany fans among our political leaders.
