Popular Bangladeshi actor Dilara Hanif Purnima has left her role in Jaaz Multimedia’s upcoming film “Dohon,” originally signed with model and actor, Azmeri Haque Badhon.
On leaving the project, Purnima said the news of her return to the big screen and replacing Badhon for the role was portrayed in the media negatively.
She told different media outlets that the shooting of the film was set to start from June 1 and she was not prepared for the role at such short notice.
She also reportedly said that after the signing she did not like the massive coverage of her replacing Badhon for the role, which according to her, was portrayed negatively.
She also said she did not like headlines like “Purnima replaces Badhon” or, “Purnima takes over Badhon’s role.”
Purnima also said that she has notified the production company that she could not be a part of the project as she did not have the mental state to work on the project after all the negative publicity.
On the other hand, Jaaz Multimedia is yet to issue any official statements on the matter.
Previously, model and actor Badhon signed for the same role but left the project saying the sudden change of production dates for the film clashed with other projects she had already signed up for.
