DSEX, the major price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, added 18.14 points to close the day at 5,137.74 – the highest after October 30, 2014 when it closed at 5,173.23, reports BSS.
The DSES for Shariah-based companies and the DS30 for the blue-chip scrips also followed the same trend with a marginal rise to end at 1,213.24 and 1,852.65 respectively.
The daily trade value declined to Tk1,391.09 crore from Monday’s Tk1,448.15 crore and the volume increased to 41.12 crore shares from 47.24 crore of the third session of the week.
Of the day’s 327 issues, 136 closed higher against 164 losing securities.
The day’s major gainers were Samorita Hospital, Desco, Yeakin Polymer Limited, Monno Ceramic and Peninsula Chittagong.
The most losing securities included Meghna PTI, Meghna Condensed Milk, Khulna Power, Agrani Insurance and Tallu Spinning.
Desco topped the turnover list followed by Beximco, BBS, Far Chemical and AFC Agro.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) finished the session of the week upward with its major CASPI index closing significantly high with 57.43 points at 15,827.23.
Of the 263 issues traded on the CSE, 106 closed higher against 134 losing securities when 2.85 crore shares changed hands for Tk83.90 crore.
