Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, which commenced its journey in 1995 with the commitment to providing modern Shariah-compliant banking services, has celebrated its 31st anniversary.
To mark the milestone, discussion meetings, Dua and Munajat were organized on September 27, Sunday, at the bank’s head office and across its 226 branches and 89 sub-branches nationwide.
The anniversary program organized at the head office was attended by Badiur Rahman, chairman of the board of directors, as chief guest.
Among others present at the program were vice chairman of the board of directors Liakat Ali Chowdhury; directors Khalilur Rahman, Salim Rahman, Hafez Md Enayet Ullah, Ahamedul Hoque, Mohammad Abdus Salam, Engr Kh Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Md Rafiqul Islam; and SM Zahir Uddin Haider, observer Mohammad Anisur Rahman, director (IBRPD), Bangladesh Bank.
The program was presided over by Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan, managing director of the bank.
Also present were deputy managing directors Md Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, SM Abu Jafar, and Sayed Abul Hashem, along with heads of various divisions at the head office and senior executives.
Managers of all branches, sub-branch in-charges, customers and well-wishers joined the program virtually.
In his remarks, Badiur Rahman, chairman of the board of directors, expressed his gratitude to customers, well-wishers and shareholders on the occasion of the bank’s 31st anniversary.
He said that the Bank began its journey in 1995 based on the core value of “Always Shariah” and continues to move forward with the same commitment.
He emphasized that the trust, cooperation and goodwill of customers and stakeholders have remained the bank’s greatest strength throughout its journey. He expressed optimism that, with Shariah at the core, the bank would continue to advance as a stronger and more modern Islamic bank.
Salim Rahman, chairman of the executive committee of the board, extended his greetings on the occasion and said that the slogan “31 YEARS ROOTED IN SHARI’AH, ELEVATING TRUST” reflects the bank’s journey, achievements, customer confidence and goodwill.
He highlighted the bank’s extensive network and workforce of nearly 6,000 employees as significant achievements.
He also emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen corporate governance, good governance, transparency and accountability, while making banking services easier and more effective through digital transformation and process development.
He hoped that Al-Arafah Islami Bank would continue to establish itself as a more modern and trusted Islamic Bank.
Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan, managing director, expressed gratitude to all board members, regulatory authorities, customers, stakeholders and employees for their contributions to the bank’s 31-year journey.
He said that changing times are bringing changes in customer needs and expectations, and the bank is expanding its services accordingly through modern and innovative services, digital banking, retail and SME banking, remittance and other areas.
