The seminar highlighted the significance of supply chain management at academic and practical levels, based on local and global perspectives.
In his keynote speech, Dr Md Mamun Habib, associate professor of BRAC Business School, illustrated academic models of supply chain management and elaborated through examples from real life applications in the manufacturing and service industries. The current scenario of the job market – locally and internationally – was illustrated by corporate specialist Ferdoush Saleheen, head of supply chain at LG Butterfly Bangladesh.
Professor Dr Rahim B Talukdar, adviser of BRAC Business School, inaugurated the seminar, while Dr Tareque Aziz, associate professor and head of Operations, and Hasan Maksud Chowdhury, assistant professor of BRAC Business School, were present at the seminar, among others.
The university recently launched a new business major on “Operations and Supply Chain Management” at BBA and MBA levels.
