Two separate circulars were issued by Bangladesh Bank (BB) in this regard on Wednesday.
Exporters will get 20% subsidy over the net export value against these goods produced locally at their own factories.
“The government has decided to provide subsidy against export of seeds of corn and vegetables aiming to boost country’s export business,” said the circulars.
BB circular reads, the decision will come into effect from July 1 this year and will be applicable for cargo products as per circular.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bangladesh Bank had announced extending a new 5% incentive for exports of crust and finished leather if the tanneries in Hazaribagh relocate to Savar while the existing 12.5% subsidy on leather goods exports has been increased to 15%.
A subsidy of 10% will be given against the exports of horns, tendons and intestines of cows and buffaloes. Exporters of frozen shrimp and other fish will get up to 10% incentive. Shipbuilding is becoming an emerging industry in Bangladesh, and in the light of the development, the incentive for ship exporters has been raised to 10% from 5%.
Exporters of potato, PET bottle flex and plastic goods will get 10% incentive and furniture exporters 15%. Various jute goods exporters will get 5% to 20% incentives.
