Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has decided to increase the supply of octane and petrol in divisional cities to maintain fuel availability amid the current situation.

The state-owned corporation announced the decision in a press release issued on Wednesday.

According to the release, BPC has issued new instructions regarding the supply and distribution of fuel oil to ensure adequate availability based on public demand.

Under the revised directive, the reduction in the average sales rate of fuel oil (octane and petrol) in divisional cities will be lowered to 15%, instead of the previously planned 25%. Fuel will be supplied to filling stations according to the allocation chart.

BPC said depot superintendents, sales officers, and dealers and agents of marketing companies under their respective jurisdictions have been instructed to take the necessary steps to ensure fuel supply in line with the revised allocation.
