Update : 10 Mar 2026, 12:00 PM

Gold prices have increased again in the domestic market, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (Bajus).

In a notification issued on Tuesday, Bajus said the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk268,213 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 21-carat gold will cost Tk256,024 per bhori.

The association said the adjustment was made following a rise in the prices of pure (acid) gold and silver in the international market.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of Bajus’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring held at 9:30am on Tuesday. The new rates came into effect at jewellery shops across the country from 10am the same day.

Under the revised price list, the price of 22-carat hallmarked gold has been set at Tk22,995 per gram. The price of 21-carat gold is Tk21,950 per gram, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk18,815 per gram.

Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk15,360 per gram.

Previously, the price of 22-carat gold was Tk264,948 per bhori, while 21-carat gold was Tk252,876 per bhori.

Meanwhile, Bajus has also set new prices for silver. The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk560 per gram, 21-carat silver at Tk535 per gram, 18-carat silver at Tk460 per gram, and traditional silver at Tk345 per gram.

Bajus said the new rates will remain effective at jewellery shops nationwide until further notice. It also instructed traders to collect the government-imposed 5% VAT from buyers and deposit it in the state treasury.
