Islami Bank inaugurates 400th branch in Tangail

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC inaugurated its 400th branch in Ghatail of Tangail on Saturday. 

Dr Ahsan H Mansur, governor, Bangladesh Bank inaugurated the branch as chief guest. 

Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of the bank presided over the event while Md Abdul Jalil, chairman, Executive Committee, Prof Dr M Masud Rahman, chairman of Risk Management Committee, Md Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, chairman, Audit Committee and Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, independent director were present as special guests. 

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director of the bank addressed welcome speech and Prof Dr Mohammad Abdus Samad, member secretary of Shariah Supervisory Committee presented a keynote on welfare-oriented banking. 

Md Omar Faruk Khan, additional managing director thanked the audience. 

Md Altaf Hossain and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, additional managing directors were present in the program.

Dr Ahsan H Mansur, governor, Bangladesh Bank in his speech as chief guest said, Islami Bank is the number one bank of the country. 

The country’s economy can not go forward without Islami Bank. People have confidence over the bank. 

As a result, it has turned around within the shortest time and is now going forward smoothly. This Bank will not look back anymore.    

He said, one fourth of the country is closely connected with Islami Bank. Opening of the 400th Branch is a great achievement for this bank. The confusion created over the Bank sector has been disappearing gradually. We have been working to pull out the Banking sector from the previous devastating situation. Islami Bank has come forward remarkably from the scenario of five months back.
In the meantime, the Bank has gained seven thousand crore taka fresh deposit. The bank has also secured the top position in collecting foreign remittance.

He also said, Islami Bank had been established as an International Bank. Foreign investors invested here. We are trying to get them back. Islami Bank will come back as an International Bank again, he said. He envisaged that the Bank has the prospect to flourish ten times larger. 

Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of the bank in his speech said, the countrywide strong network of IBBPLC comprising 400 branches, 265 sub-branches, 2,800 agent outlets and more than 3,000 ATM/CRM is the symbol of its popularity. 

The employees of this bank work with honesty and sincerity. It is very rare to find so many honest & competent people under the same umbrella.

He also said, Islami Bank has been working for development of rural economy through its Rural Development Scheme across 34,000 villages of the country. We want to extend this services to 68,000 villages across the country. 

On behalf of clients and well-wishers, Prof Khandaker Abdur Razzak, vice president of Tangail Sabalia Adarsh ​Samaj ​Kalyan Parishad, Md Hosni Mobarak Babul, principal of AIM City Residential School and College, Md Russell Mia, owner of the bank's Brahman Shasan Bazar Agent Outlet and Md Rafiqul Islam, businessman and educationist addressed the program.
